Many of us are heartbroken to see the impact of the Russian invasion on the people of Ukraine. We would like to encourage support for those people but it is not the best use of resources for us to collect food and physical goods here in the UK which then need to be transported across Europe. We would encourage everyone who wants to help, to donate through the Disasters Emergency Committee (dec.org.uk). Their members are already on the ground providing support. Your money will be doubled by the UK government and can be used immediately to buy the supplies and support needed locally in Poland, Moldova, Romania, Hungary and Slovakia, Ukraine’s neighbours.
